oh god i need to start the killing around the apple mac os x campus. (no, no, i wouldn't actually go a-killing.) so i am trying to figure out how to get unicode entered. there's some sort of Character Viewer. i try that but it doesn't help so i hit Cmd-Q to quit it.

but it doesn't quit. some other thing quits.

so i click on the damned thing figuring it didn't have focus, and Cmd-Q again.

it still doesn't quit. now some yet other app i had open has been quit.

turns out it doesn't have its own menu bar, because it is some utility widgety thing. FROM HELL. die die die die die.
