have i mentioned how much i completely hate programming languages that lack something like haskell's newtype-plus-deriving? like, all those things in the android api docs that utterly fail to say if they are zero based indices, or one based. a newtype could clear all that up and make it self-documenting -- shock! horror! gasp! what a vision of a bold future! -- via the types.
